Quick answers to common issues for parents and facility administrators. Please refer to our instructions pages for more detailed answers.

Can I add child records for parents?

Yes, but only in the parent view. All child records must have a record owner, so you would be the record owner, and may be required to have a parent subscription depending on your facility settings.

We recommend that parents create their own child records for simplicity.

Do people need to get an account, can't we just use special instructions?

Yes, however if a user will be repeatedly picking up, it is strongly suggested to use the app. This is for good communication, security and safety of the children being picked up.

Is the app free for parents?

If a facility pays with a subscription plan, parents can add children for free with one guardian. Extra guardians or facilities using the parent plan will require a parent subscription.

Can I try the product before subscribing?

Yes! Our default facility account setup is with the Parent Plan. In the Parent Plan, you can add up to two child records as the admin to test out functionality. Stay with the Parent Plan (our recommendation) and facilities won't need any subscription; parents will pay a small subscription individually.

Can I pay by check?

In order to manage our subscriptions automatically, payment through the web via Stripe or app stores is our only payment option.

How do I create a check in message?

In your facility settings, select the Check In Message section and customize your message. Remember to check the box to activate it.

How do I remove a child from a program?

Filter your view for the relevant program. Double tap the child record, and look for the Withdrawal option below the settings section. You can withdrawal the child there.

How do I create an account?

Go to your corresponding app store for your phone or device (Google Play or Apple Store) and download the Safely Stow app. Click the Create button at the bottom, and create a parent account.

My spouse already created a child record, do I create one too?

No, just friend your spouse, and have them add you as a guardian or pick-up user for the child.

How can I change the default pick up person?

Double tap on the child record to open settings. Select the Change Default Pick-Up option.

Can I delete a pick up user?

Yes, as long as the user is not the record owner, that day's pickup or the default pickup user, you may delete them.

What if I don't want to provide my phone, email or name?

The purpose of the app is to provide greater security and safety for the children attending a given facility. Accurate information about people authorized to pick up those children is required.

Can parents delete a child record?

Yes, however all other guardians must be removed first.

Can we change the child's name?

No, no one can change a child name. Instead, just delete the record and have the parent create a new record.

Can facility admins change authorized pick up users or default pick up users?

Non-guardian facility admins can change the Today's Pick-Up but nothing else.

Can I change our subscription?

Yes, just be aware the you cannot cancel app store subscriptions from the Safely Stow app. The Google and Apple app stores only allow subscription changes within their settings.

Can I cancel our subscription?

Noooooo! Yes, you can. Although, we will miss you! App store cancellations must happen in the relevant app store, it can't be completed within the Safely Stow app. For web metered subscriptions, just tap the Go button in the metered subscription section to make changes.
